The other day I was at City centre ...Just roaming around with some friends .
We decided to go to one of the Video game shops there ...sounds like fun eh....Anyways we entered the shop and I saw that the shop was selling two of the latest video game consoles...X-box 360 and PS3 .I casually walked upto the salesman and asked him How much the price of the competing consoles were...
His reply ...Please note prices are in Dhs and not in Rupees.
X-Box 360 - 1800 dhs ..Hmm not too bad compared to whats next
PS3 - 5000 Dhs ...Hell 5000 dhs sheesh..
I walked away ..
I rather play the Game of Life(the board game :P) or Monopoly (good ol' Mono) than play that .....I would feel way too spoilt playing on a 5000 bux console ...
I would never buy my kid a console that was 5000 dhs .....even if I had the money because it just wouldnt make any sense...I agree some of the features are pretty cool ..you could pop in a blu-ray disc and enjoy 50 gb worth of entertainment on ur PS3 but 5000 bux ...
Its not like it makes a difference to me because anyways i wasnt going to buy a PS3
Im more than happy playing Fifa or NFS on my PS2, but lets say I was around 6 years younger or sumthin ...My parents wouldnt have been able to convince me out of buying a Ps3 ..What a burden..Its only when you grow older that you realise the true value of money and yet we spend so much money on movie tickets and so much money on various games in the arcades.......Whereas in India movies -100Rs (if not less) , Arcade games 10 Rs .
It just doesnt make sense to pay that amount for a 90 minute movie....
Movies are seen in theatres bcos of the big screen and the amazing sound....The big screen is there but the sound is not at all good ...
I dont know how many of you have been toany one of the Inox cinemas in India ...The seats are amazing ...The food is reasonable.....The screen is huge ...and the sound is absolutely brilliant..A true movie experience for 100 Rs and 0 paise .

I dont think too many of you enjoyed the post cause it was all about video games and all that ..so it was a bad post for all non-gaming ppl but hey everyones played some game or the other, whether its Tetris and Pac-Man or Fifa and NFS.

This post is very well written....i totally agree wid you about the ps3, i'm quite into gaming and though the graphics and stuf are good there is no way i wud pay 5000 dhs for it i wud feel like a spoiled brat like you said. I was seeing one show and the price of the ps3 in america is around 900$, thats like 2500 dhs, where does all the extra money come from? shipping? tax? Dubai is way overpriced in every aspect(including theatres)

Well - described post.. I wouldn't get a PS3 for Dhs.5000 - Huge waste of money! Even in India, the prices are gradually increasing...!!! I like the facts that you put at the end of each post - the hula hoop is illegal in Finland.. WHY?? lol...! byee!

Maybe too much plastic used to make hula hoops and so lots of plastic entered water bodies and therefore the fishes cudnt survive in the water bodies even though they named it "Fin"-land

I don't know if this is true, it seems that the PS3's cost of production is Dhs.6500 so they're not exactly making a profit by selling it for 5000. Though, i'm not sure that that's true. Anyway, i thought i should tell you that anyway. bye!
